Lawn Mowing, Trimming & Blowing
Weekly Lawn Mowing Service for Hugo, Lino Lakes, and Centerville MN.
Keep The Lawn Cut, Trimmed and Tidy
Our crew provides three essential tasks to complete your lawn mowing service: mowing, trimming, and blowing.
Lawn Mowing Schedule
We provide this service on a weekly basis (every 7 days). In some rare instances we can provide this service on a bi-weekly basis (every 14 days). One example where bi-weekly mowing’s are often performed is at a cabin or lake home. Please contact the office to discuss your mowing needs.
Mowing Angle
For the health of the grass we change our mowing angle every week. If you always cut your grass using the same pattern, your grass learns which direction it’s being cut from and begins to lean in the direction you mow. By varying the mowing pattern, you help avoid forming ruts in the lawn. Plus, the grass will stand up nice and tall since its being mowed from all directions.
Mowing Height
We typically mow our client’s lawns at 3” or more. It’s beneficial to keep your grass longer rather than short. This is because longer grass blades can grow and support more roots and develop a deeper root system that is better able to find water and nutrients in the soil.
You never want to take off more than a third of the grass blade at any one time. Cutting aggressively/short forces grass to focus its energy into re-growing its blades, and not deepening its roots. Cutting short also makes your lawn more prone to weeds. Taller grass shades the soil and keeps it cooler, helping prevent weed seeds from germinating. We cannot mow any lower than 2.75” for the health of your lawn and protection of our equipment.
Mowing underneath trees
For the mowing portion of this service our lawn crews typically operate stand up mowers on our client’s property. Did you know that when our employees are standing on them, they reach to approximately 6’-7’ high?
That means if your tree branches are hanging lower than 7’ they could possibly pose a risk of harming our workers or damaging our equipment. For this reason, we will not be able to mow underneath trees until the branches are trimmed up to a safe height of approximately 8’. However, you’re in luck because we provide tree trimming services! Call the office to schedule this important and often overlooked service.
Free fertilizer
Lawnpro does not bag grass clippings when performing our mowing, trimming, and blowing service. Grass clippings are mainly composed of water so they break down quickly and provide nitrogen and potassium which is like getting FREE FERTILIZER! Contrary to popular lawn myth, leaving clippings on the lawn does not cause thatch. Thatch is a combination of living and dead plant matter including crowns, stolon’s, rhizomes, and roots. In fact, grass clippings left on the lawn will reduce the amount of thatch. As the clippings decompose, they also help decompose the dead plant matter. We use mulching blades which cut the grass into smaller pieces for easier decomposing.
Trimming
For the trimming portion of this service our crews will trim around trees, fences, lamp posts, well caps, foundation of home or any permanent structure where grass is adjacent. This does not include trimming of trees and shrubs.
Blowing
After we have performed the mowing and trimming part of the service, our crew will blow grass clippings off any hard surfaces like driveways, sidewalks, and patios. This does not include blowing leaves out of any area. If by chance your lawn has “clumped” grass after mowing, we will blow the “clumps” out for a tidy appearance.
Before your mowing, trimming & blowing service
